Atmanirbhar Bharat (English: Self-dependent India) is the vision of the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi of making india an independent country. The primary notice of this came as the 'Atmanirbhar Bharata Abhiyan' or 'Self-reliant India' during the declaration of the coronavirus pandemic related financial bundle on 12 May 2020. This independent approach doesn't plan to be protectionist in nature and as the finance minister explained, "confident india doesn't mean cutting off from rest of the world".

• The develment of India's Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) division from zero preceding March, to 1,50,000 pieces per day by the start of May, is considered as a fine case of an independent India.The PPE industry in India has become a ₹7,000 crore (US$980 million) in two months, the second biggest after China.

• The largest fund in the country worth ₹21,000 crore (US$2.9 billion) was arrangement by the IIT Alumni Council with the point of supporting the mission towards atmanirbhar bharat.
